UCLA Health MRI Technologist - Beach Imaging and Interventional Center in Santa Monica, California

Description

As the MRI Technologist you will perform basic and complex MR imaging procedures as well as post-processing responsibilities. This will require an in-depth understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology. You will be required to maintain a high degree of accuracy in patient positioning and image acquisition/formation. You will also need to apply your knowledge of magnetic field safety and properly screen all patients and visitors prior to admittance into the MR magnet room. You will:

* * Ensure accurate processing of radiology orders

* * Maintain accurate up-to-date records of procedures performed

* * Operate a variety of post-processing/3D workstations

* * Perform accurate image archival

* * Prepare and administer paramagnetic contrast media

* * Sensitively handle physical and emotional needs of the patient

Salary Range: $49.73 - $65.56 HourlyQualifications

* * Licenses

  • o ARRT, CRT - required. MR certificate required

  • o ARRT, ARMRIT (MR) - required

    • Venipuncture certificate - required
    • BCLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required
    • Graduate from a AMA Radiologic Technologist Program - required
    • AA or BS - preferred

* * Siemens experience - preferred

* * Ability to adapt to advancements and changing technologies

* * Ability to identify contraindications for exams

* * Excellent communication, interpersonal and independent decision-making skills

* * Familiarity with clinical billing (IDX codes)

* * Knowledge of human anatomy and pathology
