We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

As an XR (eXtended Reality) 3D Visualization Specialist you will be a champion within the Design Studio team, making the use of digital/immersive processes more ubiquitous in Ford Design. You will be required to work cross-functionally with Class A surfacing teams, Design creatives, and Color & Materials designers to make dynamic, precise models that allow the broader Ford Design team to see design vision in high resolution through monitors, power walls, and 3D XR headsets. You will also help coordinate immersive experiences for these teams and refine best practices for a global process of immersive design and collaboration.

  • Support the Ford Design Team in the creation of up-to-date digital models for reviews in high quality immersive XR and VR environments.

  • Set up equipment, software, organize and run global XR collaborative meetings.

  • Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to translate their requirements into effective data content for VR/XR solutions both in North America, and across global regions.

  • Refine, implement, and coordinate best practices for global XR reviews and collaboration technologies.

  • Champion the increased use of virtual processes globally, by effectively communicating with various design teams to identify areas where visualization technology can augment or streamline their workflow, and by giving demonstrations to anyone new to these technologies.

*You'll have... *

  • B.S. degree or equivalent or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years' experience XR and 3D visualization

  • Proficiency with Surface and Poly modeling software tools: VRED, Alias, Gravity Sketch, Blender, Maya, etc..

  • Experience with VR and XR headsets such as HTC, Varjo, and Meta Quest 3/Pro

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Even better, you may have…

  • Prior design studio experience at an automotive OEM or supplier

  • Familiarity with materials, textures, lighting and rigging in 3D tools

  • Working knowledge of vehicle development process from the Design concept phase though production release for both Exterior and Interior models

  • Knowledge of basic coding in Python, HTML/CSS, and JS

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
