Position Overview:

Assesses, diagnoses, plans and implements the medical care of patients in collaboration with a physician. Functions within the full scope of licensure; accountable for the assessment, coordination delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in assigned area. Develops, implements, manages an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional advanced nursing practice. Follows ambulatory care and inpatient standardized procedures, protocols, policy and procedures regulated by the State of California Nurse Practice Act. Preferred experience in Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Master's: Nursing

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

RN - Registered Nurse State Licensure

NP-Nurse Practitioner (National certification)

AANP or ANCC or PNCB National Certification

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

NPF-Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License

CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA)

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

Department, Urgent Care and Cardiology: ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults of all ages—as well as in working within primary care settings and in using an integrated care approach.

Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Experience using Epic is also preferred.

Broad experience in psychopharmacology, the management of psychiatric medications, and the education of patients and their families with respect to pharmacotherapy.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of community agencies and resources.

Knowledge of mandated reporting requirements

Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients and patient families; requires patience and compassion.

Psychiatric assessment skills that can be applied to a wide range of DSM diagnoses.

Ability to provide brief psychotherapies as appropriate.

Ability to manage diverse caseload in a manner that meets patients’ needs while also providing the capacity for new patients entering treatment.

Interpersonal skills, and the ability to support change in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

Ability to provide care that is consistent with professional standards, clinic policy, and managed care guidelines.

Effective time management skills.

Computer skills: EHR capable; Outlook email and Microsoft Word proficient.

Ability to work with others in a flexible, cooperative, tactful and diplomatic manner.

Active listening skills; including interpersonal skills and telephone communication

Ability to sit or stand for long periods

Applies moderate mental application and concentration to handle varying procedures and interruptions

Pay Range is $85.57 to $113.41 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
