Nvidia Senior SOCD Design Automation Engineer in Santa Clara, California

The NVIDIA SOC Design (SOCD) team is looking for a highly motivated and creative design automation engineer. As someone who is passionate about design automation, you will develop key aspects of our in-house front-end chip development Tools, Flow, and Methodology (TFM) to enable the vision of our chip development and assembly. Our mission is to enable SOCD and hardware engineers to work efficiently while maintaining the high quality of the products that we produce. Your work will impact the company product lines ranging from consumer graphics to artificial intelligence (AI) to self-driving cars and supercomputers.

A successful candidate should possess strong software development skills in Perl, Python, or C/C++, and a dedication to high quality work. We want someone who enjoys problem solving and writing code to automate design processes. A proven track record to conceptualize, design, and implement robust TFM with well thought out APIs and interfaces would make you an excellent fit. As our team works in cross functional environment, you should possess good interpersonal skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with SOCD and hardware engineers to improve efficiency and productivity in our front-end chip development process through innovative design automation solutions and practices

  • Define and develop system-level methodologies and tools to build SOCs in an efficient and scalable manner

  • Proactively find automation opportunities and propose solutions that enable speed and agility in chip development

  • Deploy tracking metrics to improve chip development productivity

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

  • At least 5 years of industry experience in creating design automation for front-end chip development, with emphasis in chip assembly and IP integration

  • Strong coding skills in Perl, Python, C/C++, or other industry-standard scripting languages

  • Experience in database system for data collection and visualization

  • Background in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD)

  • Experience in Web User Interface Platform and Infrastructure

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to get along with cross functional teams across sites and cultures to build consensus

The base salary range is 128,000 USD - 258,750 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
