Your Career
Palo Alto Networks is building a world-class product management organization and continues to look for world-class product managers to expand the team. Layer-7 Application Identification (App-ID) is what makes a firewall next-gen and we are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join us and drive the evolution of this foundational technology. You will be responsible for driving the product strategy, roadmap, and execution with measurable outcomes that push the envelope of innovation for this.
Your Impact
Conceptualize and define differentiated features for Next-Gen App-ID through a deep understanding of evolving Gen-AI and Applications Landscape, advancements in Network Protocols and Customer pain-points across our core and growth markets
Collaborate with product leaders to build out business case, author PRDs and collaborate with cross-functional product, engineering and design teams to plan and release features
Ability to think big picture and sweat on the details
Assist the field and customers understand our value, competitive differentiation, and best practices for implementing our product
Communicate product value to both customers and the business in a compelling manner using slides and documents
Engage customers and develop relationship via executive briefings, product evangelism, and requirements gathering
Be a great team player– an excellent communicator, strong collaborator, someone who solicits feedback from others, is welcoming of better ideas
Your Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science, other engineering/technical degree or equivalent military experience required
5+ years of experience in a technical product management role
Technical knowledge of application-layer protocols, application identification and control, layer-7 inspection technologies, decryption, firewalls, networking
Knowledge of LLMs, Gen-AI applications landscape and Security Team requirements from Layer-7 Application Control
Proven track record in building innovative features from inception to launch
Experience with UX / UI and workflow development
Strong written, analytical, problem solving and presentation skills
Self-motivated, intellectually curious with excellent people and team collaboration skills

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $142,000/yr to $229,700/yr.
