NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a "learning machine" that constantly evolves by adapting to new challenges that are hard to solve, that only we can pursue, and that matter to the world. This is our life's work to amplify human inventiveness and intelligence. Choose to join us today. NVIDIA Silicon Solutions Group seeks engineers to join our post-silicon HW team. As a team member, you will be responsible for memory qualification on current and future Tegra/GPU silicon/products.

What you'll be doing:

  • Bring up high-speed memory interface on sophisticated chips like GPUs and SoCs.

  • Functional validation, IO tuning, and PVT testing of the memory controller and DRAM paved the way for the successful productization of the silicon.

  • Optimizing Memory IO settings to support multiple memory configurations involving different types of DRAMs and vendors.

  • Identify any functional issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive closure of the issues found. Coordinate with design, arch, and board teams, where required.

  • Collaborate with Nvidia memory controller designers and DRAM vendors to bring up / debug challenging issues related to the next generation of LPDDR and GDDR memory

  • Perform interface signal measurements to make sure designs are meeting JEDEC Spec.

  • Perform functional regression and interoperability testing on supported DRAM technology with SOC/GPU processors across process, voltage, and temperatures

  • Work closely with Application Engineering teams to resolve customer issues in a time-critical environment.

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer engineering or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of proven experience in memory validation/characterization.

  • Good understanding of the latest high-speed DRAM interfaces like DDR5/LPDDR5x/GDDR5x and the different specifications.

  • Working knowledge of memory qualification process, including PVT dependencies.

  • Knowledgeable in performance and power management techniques such as DVFS, clock and power gating, clock sequencing, binning, and power throttling.

  • Hands-on validation experience with lab debugging and tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).

  • Good knowledge of PCB design and high-speed signal & power integrity issues

  • Basic scripting skills (Python & JavaScript).

  • Effective in a collaborative environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Design background of DDR interface and datapath design with post-silicon validation and correlation to pre-silicon.

  • Challenges of high-speed testing, especially in high-volume manufacturing.
