Nvidia Manager, Developer Platform Engineering in Santa Clara, California

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for our Developer Productivity team. Join the NVIDIA Developer Productivity team and empower engineers throughout the world developing state of the art products in Automotive, VR, Gaming, Deep Learning, and High Performance Computing! See your efforts in action as developers use your platform to connect to the resources they need to be more productive. Create the future of work for all NVIDIAN's by building an ecosystem of devices and tools that follow each person no matter where they are located. The successful Engineer Manager will work in the NVIDIA IT to build a team focused on developer productivity. You will apply knowledge of software engineering, DevOps, and virtual desktop infrastructure to craft a world-class, highly scalable virtual desktop platform.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage and build a team of senior engineers to deliver on creating NVIDIA's cloud desktop platform.

  • Assist in designing the cloud desktop strategy.

  • Coordinate cross functional development with infrastructure and networking teams.

  • Establish team objectives for business units with virtual desktop requirements and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

  • Drive schedule execution and quality, software engineering practices.

  • Act as a mentor/advisor to subordinates to deliver on schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect immediate organization.

  • Connect with senior management for team vision and development progress.

  • Groom future engineering leaders and mentor junior engineers/interns.

What we need to see:

  • BSEE, BSCS or equivalent experience with 8+ overall years of related work experience.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience.

  • Experience building a virtual desktop service in the cloud.

  • Strong experience in corporate engineering and an understanding of how these challenges differentiate from consumer-facing engineering challenges.

  • Good track record of developing, driving and delivering software products.

  • Strong software development processes fundamentals.

  • Prior exposure to customer facing roles.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Strong software optimization and debugging knowledge.

  • System engineering knowledge of OS and client engineering integrations,

  • Background in the high performance computing field.

  • Show your real passion for shipping software products.

The base salary range is 200,000 USD - 310,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
