Applied Materials Business Development Manager - (B3) in Santa Clara, California

Job Description

The role will join Applied Materials Global Services (AGS) M&A/NBD team. The role will drive the analysis of business & market data to find trends/opportunities, create growth strategies, develop project plans, and create persuasive communication of investment justification and business execution. The individual will work closely on cross-functional project teams and collaborate with functions across the enterprise (Product management, Business Development, R&D/Engineering, Finance, Sales, etc.). The individual will have opportunities to participate and present insights and findings in various formats and contexts within the organization (e.g. quarterly reviews, project specific reviews, executive reviews, product marketing materials, etc.). The role offers a great career development opportunity in the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary & secondary data analysis (Market segmentation, competition, financial analysis, technology landscape, etc.)

  • Identify inorganic growth opportunities – Targets for M&A, Investment, IP Acquisition, Licensing & Partnership per business unit needs and strategy.

  • Build business cases with the strategic rationale for the selected target using clear messaging and data visualization.

  • Define business and execution risks and provide support to develop mitigation plans.

  • Financial modeling to assess revenue and profitability impact to the existing business.

  • Present analysis and communicate proposals to business unit owners to prioritize opportunities and select target projects.

  • Build relationships with external organizations, including universities and research institutes to identify new business opportunities.

  • Manager multiple projects with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, MBA and STEM fields are highly preferred

  • 4-7 years of work experience. Background in marketing (product development, business development, corporate strategy, or management consulting.

  • Semiconductor industry experience is highly desirable.

  • Working knowledge of different inorganic growth activities like M&A, Investment, IP Acquisition, Licensing & Partnership is a plus.

  • History of achieving results through collaboration and teamwork; Cross-functional experience with global exposure

  • Experience in advanced business data analysis & presentation (Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Expected Travel: <10%

U.S. Salary Range:

$128,000.00 - $176,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
