  • As part of driving a Zero Defect process, it's critical to have consistent high quality components from our suppliers. This position is to do just that, focused on critical suppliers and components, to ensure what the components shipped from our supply base meet our product requirements.

  • Job Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive robust PPAP activities for Components; Ensure process controls (prevention & detection) are aligned product critical features on the drawings; Engage with suppliers to drive ProCert / SPC on critical features

  • Drive timely & effective supplier containments and corrective actions using 8D methodology for defects (found at the plant or in the field)

  • Complete on-site audits of supplier quality management system (periodic audit schedule for suppliers of critical components & focused audits based on performance concerns); understand suppliers’ internal failure paretos and actions being taken to improve those processes

  • Ensure all suppliers and the materials they provide adhere to engineering and manufacturing specifications and company and government standards

  • Liaise between product engineers, supplier, manufacturing personnel to be assure the interpretation of the prints/ drawing are aligned with engineering requirements EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience; related field of study or equivalent is acceptable. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate for this position is a positive self-driven professional who possesses a combination of business acumen, technical and interpersonal skills.

  • 4+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality driven projects, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Operations within a manufacturing facility, with a proven history of influencing others in a cross-functional matrix environment.

  • Solid positive attitude and effective communicating skills with a proven ability to forge solid business inclusive and diverse relationships.

  • Experienced with ISO 9001, Quality core processes, systems, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing tools.

  • Strong corrective action skills, ability to lead a cross-functional team and follow the issue to closure using 8D problem-solving tools such as; 5Y, fishbone, Fault tree analysis, etc

  • Experience with Quality Core tools such as, MSA, SPC, FMEA & Control plans

  • Knowledge of Quality tools (SPC, Pareto Charts, Cause & Effect Analysis, Minitab, etc.) and the deployment of these tools in continuous improvement initiatives

  • Experience with APQP

  • Robust skills on data manipulation, interpretation, and analysis.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

  • Familiar with GD&T methodology

  • Experience with 8D problem solving techniques
