Location (ATL, DFW, SLC) Hybrid

The Director Engineering will train, develop, coach and mentor the Engineering Team. This role will oversee the operation of an international team of software engineers, automated testing engineers and devops engineers. The Director Engineer will encourage and maintain a culture of experimentation, evolution and engineering excellence.

How you will make an impact?

  • Utilize performance review cycles to reiterate expectations and discuss methods to achieve and exceed them.
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for software engineering.
  • Plan and implement systems and processes to fulfill the mission and the goals of the Engineering efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
  • Drive business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and aligned to the execution of our vision and strategy.
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor and ensure the success of the team.

Have you got what it takes?

  • 5+ years of managing and developing (ideally service oriented!) Engineering teams
  • 10+ years of hands-on Engineering experience delivering enterprise-class, highly distributed, software solutions in Agile environments with an ability to influence, build credibility and bring a strong POV to Engineering groups
  • An innate personal interest in technology
  • Strong attention to detail and extremely well-organized
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to Engineering services, education, and support
  • Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
  • Provide rough estimates to tasks at a glance and guide conversations with engineers to establish more detailed estimates
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to work well with and enthusiastically influence teams & stakeholders
