    Your Impactful Role

  • Patient-Centric Care: Oversee patient flow, ensuring the delivery of exceptional nursing care and optimizing resource efficiency.

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Bring your clinical expertise and leadership skills to foster a collaborative work environment among team members.

  • Operational Oversight: Step into the shoes of the Nurse Manager in their absence, overseeing day-to-day operations.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate a keen understanding of safety hazards and equipment use to prevent potential harm to personnel and patients.

  • Communication Hub: Keep the Nurse Manager informed, providing guidance and assistance to staff, anesthesiology, vendors, MDs, visitors, and patients.

  • Customer Service Focus: Display a "customer service" attitude towards patients, visitors, vendors, and staff.

  • Strategic Staffing: Plan OR staffing assignments for optimal coverage and utilization, securing additional staffing when needed.

  • Resource Management: Assist in ordering medications, managing inventory, and supplies throughout the center.

  • Educational Support: Assess in-service/educational needs, making recommendations and contributing to employee training.

  • Operational Efficiency: Monitor employee performance, report back orders, and contribute to budgeting.

  • Inventory Coordination: Coordinate quarterly inventory with the Materials Manager, promoting awareness of waste/costs.

  • Safety Protocols: Understand and implement proper techniques for equipment use, ensuring adherence to procedures and standards.

  • Special Assignment: Maintain and contribute to a designated area of special assignment.

  • Training Leadership: Take the lead in training new employees.

    Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Current professional nursing license in the State of Georgia, familiar with the nursing performance standards outlined in the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

  • Certification in CPR and ACLS is mandatory.

  • Previous experience as an OR Circulator is required.

  • Preferred experience in Ambulatory Care and Orthopedics.

  • Conscious sedation experience is advantageous.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee may be required to be on their feet much of the day and may need to push, pull, or transport patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. These duties can be stressful, particularly when dealing with injured individuals. There is potential exposure to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. The employee frequently is required to move all extremities within a full range of motion, as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
