This position is for a part-time receptionist/office assistant.

Scheduled working hours may be negotiated but no more than 16 hours a week normally. There may be times due to other staffing issues that additional hours may be available. Lunches are normally a an hour when working 6 or more hours in a day. The District office is not open on weekends.

Some of the requirements of this position are:

Good grammar, communication and math skills. Some light lifting is required in the amount of approximately 25-40 lbs. This position requires long periods of sitting as well as standing and bending to access files and folders and clean. The ability to speak, read and write (legibly) the English language is required for this position. The ability to hear well due to phone usage, and the ability to clearly communicate messages to other employees as well as District patrons both verbally and in written form is also required.

Responsible for handling incoming payments and receipting them, frequent computer and keyboard use, use of 10-key adding machine, greeting and assisting customers both in the office and over the phone, answering the phones, data entry, assisting with filing and scanning of documents and some typing/composing letters as well as assisting the office manager and the operations personnel when needed with information, filing and or typing of documents. All employees are responsible in helping to maintain a clean office area. Any and all other job duties as assigned determined by office needs.

This is not a benefited position. This position is considered part-time/casual and the possibility of a full-time position is neither promised nor guaranteed. There is a 120-day introductory period.
