Job Description Summary

We are currently seeking qualified for our 1 st Line of Defense position as part of the Central Vendor Management team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists the Principal Vendor Compliance Manager in developing, maturing, maintaining and executing the framework for the compliance risk assessment program for the Bank’s Third Party Providers (TPPs).

  • Acts as subject matter expert applying knowledge of banking regulations to products/services being offered by TPPs in order to conduct an effective compliance risk assessment, analyze results and apply a control effectiveness rating.

  • Consults with the Business Unit Relationship Manager of the TPP to understand the TPP’s products/services as they apply to the Bank in order to develop an appropriate assessment and correctly interpret the results.

  • As necessary consults with the Bank’s 2 nd line of defense teams including Compliance subject matter experts, Third Party Vendor Management and Legal. Escalates any issues appropriately to Principal Vendor Compliance Manager.

  • Track and upload all results and artifacts to the Bank’s system of record.

  • Assists in performing complaint analysis of new TPPs and applying appropriate compliance risk due diligence both during onboarding and through ongoing monitoring to determine if the TPP has an appropriate control framework to mitigate the identified compliance risks.

  • Assists in reporting to Executive management and interacting with external examiners and internal audit.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Prior experience working with regulatory agencies, including OCC, FDIC, CFPB, SEC, MSRB, FINRA or state agencies.

Work Experience

  • 4 - 7 yrs combined Compliance/Audit/Vendor Risk Management experience

  • Alternative: Combination of education/experience/training/compliance industry certification (CRCM preferred)

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with others at all levels across the organization

  • Strong knowledge of general banking with an understanding of deposit, lending and alternative investment products

  • Strong knowledge of assigned laws and regulations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordination/liaison functions.

  • Strong writing skills for composition of reports.
