Robert Half Associate Attorney in San Mateo, California

Description

An established San Mateo law firm has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney to patriate in the day-to-day file handling. The Civil Litigation Attorney candidate must have experience in all phases of litigation, including preparing for party and expert depositions, drafting summary judgments, and trial preparation. The attorney will support the Partner and other associates in file handling, appearances, depositions, discovery, calendaring and scheduling. This position is hybrid and requires on-site work in San Mateo, CA with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will hold an active CA Bar license and have 1-4+ years of civil litigation experience in attorney capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Initial case analysis of claims and investigation file

  • Written status reporting of file, including analysis of how discovered information and procedure affect case.

  • Preparation/Review of pleadings, law and motion (particularly Motions for Summary Judgment)

  • Preparing/drafting Special Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Requests for Admission; PMK deposition notices, preparing clients for depositions, taking depositions, defending depositions.

  • Prepare case management conference statements, appearing at case management conferences

  • Prepare briefs and attend ADR proceedings.

  • Legal Research

  • Prepare Motions, draft Points and authorities, Declarations of attorneys

    Requirements

Qualifications:

• Possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

• Admission to the CA State Bar

• Minimum of 1+ year(s) of experience in civil or trust litigation

• Prior experience in insurance defense, public entity defense, or trust litigation is a huge plus but not required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

• High level of professionalism and confidentiality

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
