Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Master’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association.

  • Experience or interest providing instruction, reference or research consultation services, or workshops.

  • Demonstrated initiative and communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with others across disciplines/fields.

  • Ability to facilitate learning of students/colleagues from a multitude of backgrounds and varying needs.

  • Successful performance under pressure; flexible and creative in handling multiple responsibilities in a changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A second advanced degree (e.g., master’s or PhD) and/or a degree in a STEM or Business field.

  • Knowledge of maker literacies/competencies or experience with emerging technology.

  • Knowledge of instruction competencies in varying modalities, including components of instructional design.

  • Familiarity with issues of intellectual property including patents, copyright, and open scholarship.

  • Experience developing, marketing, managing, and assessing learning programs.

Job Description

Texas State University Libraries is seeking a STEM & Entrepreneurship Librarian. This position provides instructional support for STEM and Business disciplinary library instruction, liaises with the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, works to integrate existing emerging technologies into the curriculum, and creates new digital learning content with an initial focus on AI and Data literacies.

Job Duties

  • Develop metaliterary learning content with the seven core competency areas of the Digital Literacy Framework. Draft student learning outcomes and assessment plans.

  • Teaching activities concentrated on information and digital literacies within STEM and Entrepreneurship, including course-based instruction, consultations, and stand-alone workshops.

  • Promotes library services, spaces, and resources through creative programming and partnerships with academic and administrative departments.

  • Collaboration with Alkek One; promotion of emerging technologies and maker literacies via outreach, instruction, and curricular partnerships.

  • Other duties as assigned
