Position Description

The Department of Psychology (https://www.psych.txst.edu/) at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology. All specializations in clinical psychology will be considered, with expertise in forensic psychology and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) develop and maintain an active research program that incorporates both undergraduate and graduate students; 2) teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses relevant to clinical psychology; 3) supervise Master’s theses; 4) actively seek and maintain external funding; and 5) participate in service as a good departmental citizen.

All positions are subject to the availability of funds.

Required Qualifications

  1. Doctorate in Clinical Psychology by the time of appointment.

  2. Licensed or license eligible in the State of Texas.

  3. Scholarship productivity and record of scholarly publications (evaluated in relation to time of completion of the doctoral degree).

  4. Evidence of, or potential for, incorporating students into the research program.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Specialization in forensic psychology and/or developmental disabilities

  2. Evidence of, or potential for, securing external research funding.

  3. Quality collegiate teaching experience.
