Eaton Corporation Jr Project Engineer - Temporary in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Jr Project Engineer - Temporary.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

•Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new projects, launch of new products and continuous improvement.

•Responsible for the manufacturing activities of execution and implementation of the NPD Program(s) and projects and their budget allocation. Support and lead Product Team(s) to drive customer satisfaction & continuous improvement.

•Responsible for planning, executing and tracking financial, quality and manufacturing activities for each of the projects developed and to be developed in the site.

•Support the team and program manager in the main activities derived from PRO Launch

Essential Functions:

•Problem Solving: Analyze and provide solutions related to 8D’s solving, Quality Issues, Capability, OEE.

•Actively participate in the continuous improvement process of the plant and implement cost-savings in projects to reduce waste including corrective actions to make an immediate impact to business results. Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA´s of upcoming and current projects as needed.

•Champion key initiatives for the plant and utilize EBS to achieve plant goals. Implement ELS tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Setup Reduction, 5s, etc.

•Train and inform cell BP’s on process techniques and new manufacturing concepts from current project. Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate process sheets and standard work for each step of the manufacturing process in plant projects.

•Performs and use PROLaunch - Participating in aspects related to program management, manufacturing, logistics, quality and EHS. Review and evaluate new products, processes equipment needed and facility proposal. Support Manufacturing engineers in installation, runoff, and startup of transferred and new equipment due to projects. Support runoffs and PPAP´s.

•Ensure the execution of program timing in order to reach SOP accomplishing the TT and quality required by the costumer.

•Lead, facilitate and coordinate production activities and resources according to established proactive and/or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery or quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.

•Participate in identify best layout distribution for current and upcoming projects if needed.

•Directs the Increased use of systems approaches that integrate engineering, automation, ergonomic & environmental issues and information technology in the workplace

•Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.

•Assure CapEx execution.

•Support for management budget of the NPD Program(s) and projects. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability (RAA) for every project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic or manufacturing engineering required.

•1 year experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the automotive industry.

•English language at a conversational level required;

•Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and manufacturing processes.

•Background or experience in quality basics such as CORE Tools.

•Problem solving

•Skills at interpreting mechanical drawings and basic use of CAD systems.

•Basic Knowledge of machinery functions

•Oracle knowledge focuses in Manufacturing Processes.

•JDE knowledge focuses in Manufacturing Processes.

Skills:

•Financial knowledge and Budget handling (desired)

•Green Belt (Six Sigma) desired.
