Eaton Corporation Control Engineer in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Control Engineer.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

A. Maintain, improve, integrate, and support the systems infrastructure throughout the plant to improve performance and provide real time information to management to support business decisions. Liaison between suppliers and users to maximize systems performance including system accuracy, performance and uptime. Evaluate upgrades of technology to insure that the benefits are consistent with the costs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Analyze problems and supervise corrections related to machine capability and production rates (OEE). Maintain and improve current manufacturing processes to produce parts to specification.

B. Keep plant systems (hardware and software) operational to optimize production.

C. Inform management of evolving trends in systems technologies that will enhance plant performance.

D. Provide training and support to end-users to support productivity.

E. Work with supplier to troubleshoot problems or enhance systems capabilities.

F. Reduce costs of systems maintenance through price negotiations, reducing dependence on suppliers, or developing expertise in house.

G. Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.

H. Promotes the company’s mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

A. Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Preferable in Mechatronics, electronics, electric, or control and automation

B. 2 years experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the automotive industry.

C. English language (written)

D. Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Visual Basic, SQL, Oracle Database)

E. 2 years of experience with programming, control and automation of PLC’s

F. Computer Hardware Troubleshooting

G. Software programming

H. Mistake-proofing

I. Electronics

A. The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that we have reliable systems running manufacturing and assembly. The Systems Engineer should develop redundant systems, plus checks and balances to minimize exposure from hardware failures or software problems. In addition, the incumbent should monitor systems performance and provide corrective actions as needed.
