Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health healthcare philosophy the Ultrasound Technologist performs cardiovascular procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years recent acute care experience preferred performing Cardiovascular Ultrasound procedures in an acute facility. If not registered or registry eligible (i.e. ARDMS RDCS or RVT).

  • Working in acute care setting performing such jobs as cardiac echos TEEs cardiovascular stress tests and vascular studies.

  • Familiar with PACs systems including Xcellera and Cerner preferred.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.

  • Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.

  • Must also know departmental protocols and procedures.

  • Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians and the patient population.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.

  • Current registered or registry eligible (i.e. RDCS and/or RVT) ECE to maintain certification.

  • Current BLS CPR card.

  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$57.40 - $68.78 /hour
