Opportunity

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Project Specialist /CIC, this position is responsible to implement the adequate manufacturing processes and the continuous improvement projects aimed to achieve efficiency and productivity, as well as, decrease waste and cost. Improve the working conditions using Engineering techniques, update the standard times for all activities on the production areas, perform 5 “s” audits and give follow up to the KOS savings. To be successful in this role, the candidate would need to display an analytical approach on times study and movements, detection of waste activities, and implement effective actions to reduce them.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develops activities such as: Cycle time reduction, worker effort and inventory reduction, floor improvement, to improve work conditions, reducing or eliminating waste.

  2. Give follow up to activities such as: Cycle time reduction, worker effort and inventory reduction, floor improvement, to improve work conditions, reducing or eliminating waste, using the 7 waste reduction forms.

  3. Analyze the process to determine the adequate work conditions, related to space, layouts, lighting, breaks, manpower, tools and equipment.

  4. Support activities to complete time studies, slip weight, glaze weight, fired weight, pack weight are updated in both Plants to determine the cost of each product.

  5. Support activities during the KOS events and support all the teams on the methodology application.

  6. Maintain Standard Work studies updated with no more than 1 years old.

  7. Maintain the Layered Process Audit updated and standardized.

  8. Give follow up to achieve KOS Savings goals and report savings in monthly basis, achieve the goals and create new list for every year.

  9. Provide support to all areas in the plant on structural fabrication to improve productivity, safety and quality (Kaizen Team)

  10. Comply with the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position (See the annex).

Supervisory Relationships:

  1. Reports to the Project Specialist (CIC)

Organization Relationships:

  1. Medium contact with process engineers and General Supervisors.

  2. Frequent contact with the Quality people, frequent contact with the Accountant and with people from Materials.

  3. Frequent contact with people from Corporate.

External Relationships:

  1. N/A.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Preference Bachelor Degree in Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

Preference five years of related experience.

FORMATION:

Preference must have the ability to understand SAP and VIS systems, Standard Cost and BOM structure. Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required. Lean Tools knowledge.
