A Brief Overview The Business Development Officer (BDO) role is to drive incremental year over year originations while protecting the existing business. The BDO proactively engages with branch managers, assistant branch managers, Sales & Service Representative by visiting the Puerto Rico branch network and/or contacting them through different channels. The BDO is also responsible for tracking, develop tactics and identify areas of opportunity in different acquisition channels (online, call center, etc.).Anticipating their needs and propose different tactics to generate pipeline, increase bookings, while assuring FirstBank service levels and standards. The BDO must demonstrate a high level of engagement with the different acquisition channels and internal teams as well a strong sense of urgency and execution.What You’ll Need to Succeed - Drives / coordinates with Branches and Firstline Solutions Centers the review / implementation of staff developmental programs and trainings gears towards achieving sales results (i.e. product knowledge, disbursement requirements, sales prospecting, quality control, etc.) as it relates to unsecured consumer lending.- Responsible for the origination budget of the Unsecured Consumer Lending business segment. As such, develops actions plans towards achieving objectives, managing implementation of strategies and tactics and gauging its progress- Engage with FirstBank sales force to build relationships while achieving annual sales growth- Work proactively to minimize portfolio attrition (customers and balances)- Impact profitability through strategic and tactical decisions that drives new business results.- Responsible for ensuring appropriate sales processes are followed, and the highest levels of controls and compliance are adhered- Working collaboratively with Marketing, Compliance or relevant bank areas to create and development all product and service acquisition collateral materials to be used in the appropriate/different channels.- Engages in regular planning to determine areas of focus & project accurate full year forecasts to all relevant Bank groups- Execute acquisition tactics, activities and processes, as defined by the consumer lending group.- Develops and runs special projects requested by management.- Prepares and provides presentations to management of mattersWhat You’ll Need - A bachelor’s degree is required, in Business Administration prefer and five (5) years’ experience in sales, business development management and leadership. Knowledge of products and services of the bank and the industry’s market. Available to work holiday days, weekends and flexible schedule.
