Intel Software Development Engineer in San José, Costa Rica

Job Description

The Intel Key Generation Facility (IKGF) is the largest cryptographic key and certificate generator in the world, securing Intel platforms as well as billions of devices in the computing and consumer electronic industries. We maintain all the key/certificate generators and build new cloud infrastructure to enable new security capabilities that adds platform trust and supply chain security.

Key responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, validates, and/or debugs software across the stack for Intel security features or technologies, spanning firmware, drivers, OS, middleware, SDKs, frameworks, algorithms, and applications as required to enable an Intel software platform.

  • Ensures code and testing follow Intel security coding guidelines and Intel security practices.

  • Provides engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and perform ongoing security testing and code review to improve software security and troubleshoot and debug issues that arise including the development of reference security platform software. Implements, tests, and operates advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture.

  • Developing and Designing Complex Software running on various operating systems.

  • Unit level testing

  • Write software design, software requirements, and user documentation

  • Be able to troubleshoot with customers and integrate tools with internal functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have the following behavioral traits:

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

  • A strong team player with initiative, self-motivation, and flexibility in dealing with ambiguous situations

  • Be able to work with cross-geographical teams.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.

1+ years of experience in the following:

  • Programming Languages C, C++, or Java

  • Ability to understand basic TCP/IP protocol

  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, UEFI and (optionally) MacOS

  • API knowledge RESTFUL API, OAUTH Authentication.

Advanced English level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understand Software Security

  • Be familiar with Trusted Platform Modules (TPM) and TCG X.509 Platform Certificate.

  • Knowledge of the Client BIOS and EDKII

  • Server Architecture, Server BIOS, BMC, and SPDM/DICE

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
