Intel Software Application Development Engineer in San José, Costa Rica

Job Description

Intel's Technology Development Analytics and Technology Automation (TD ATA) is looking for a dynamic self-starter to join our Statistical Process Control and Internet of Things (SPC and IOT) team in developing Process Control System (PCS) software applications for Intel semiconductor manufacturing worldwide factories. The SPC and IOT team develops and supports mission critical and mission important applications essential for controlling, monitoring, and improving technology manufacturing at Intel's network of semiconductor fabrication facilities around the world. This is a full software development life cycle position where you will work with customers and developers across different domains and geographies to establish the requirements, design and develop the application, test the application, and support the application over time. This is a full stack development position where the team scope included everything from backend server through front end UI development. The team follows an agile software development process. We have a dynamic work environment with new requests coming in from a variety of customers. We have a strong cohesive team of developers to train and collaborate with you. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Working with users to define requirements/user stories

Designing, coding, and testing the applications to meet the requirements/stories

Working with the users and peer developers to test the application in the production fabrication and factory environments

Training and supporting users in the use of the applications

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience requirements listed below would have been obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

  • 1+ years of experience in object-oriented software design and development (e.g., C#, C++, Java)

  • Advanced English level

  • Costa Rican unrestricted work permit.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS, and/or PhD degree

  • Knowledge of Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, .NET)

  • Data visualization and summarization using Python and modern web technologies

  • Experience in CI/CD technologies

  • Experience in cloud native and microservice development and architectures

  • Experience in Microsoft or Linux operating systems

  • Experience in Microsoft or Oracle database technologies

  • Experience in developing distributed systems

  • Experience in process control systems or semiconductor manufacturing

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
