Location/Division Specific Information

Will participate in the design and development of novel software applications in our Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Software Business Unit where we build enterprise software solutions for science and the analytical industry to run LC/IC/GC and MS instruments, process data and generate reports and results.

A day in the Life

  • Design, develop, deploy life sciences software applications as micro services on Kubernetes handled software platform.

  • Build data acquisition and workflow software involving set up of sample injections, acquisition of data via control of various mass spectrometry instruments, processing raw data and generating reports. Write state machines and control software to control instruments, acquire data and process data to generate reports.

  • Develop and integrate GPT/AI based improvements for all applications!

  • Together with the entire project team, ensure visibility of the project at various levels of the organization.

  • Build backend services using microservices paradigms and support front end Web UI based development.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar; MS preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of direct industry software experience building applications for data acquisistion, scheduling, workflow management or similar

  • Proven track record of software development in C# and or Java, SQL Database design of medium to large databases.

  • Strong analytical acumen. Strong team spirit, extremely good with verbal and written communications in English.

  • Willingness and ability for international and domestic travel (up to 15%).

  • Lab experience with LC-MS workflows, software and systems is helpful.

  • Experience with distributed/networked systems and instrument control, either from a technical or a usage perspective, would be a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong and demonstrable software design, Object oriented practices, sharp and hands on coding skills in various languages like C#/Java, C++, Python. Understanding of distributed software, ideally in scientific environments.

  • Very good knowledge of Web enabled and Cloud hosted software technology.

  • Solid understanding of Azure DevOps source management, Confluence for knowledge sharing, Office tools.

  • Proficiency in English as a written and spoken language; communication with clarity and precision with team members, leadership and peers

  • Knowledge of web development languages like Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS and frameworks like Vue, React or similar is greatly helpful.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $129,400.00–$194,050.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
