We are looking for a Product Engineer to drive the back-end development of these new innovative and challenging products like our Innoswitch AC-DC converters (https://www.power.com/products/innoswitch) , Bridgeswitch motor drivers (https://www.power.com/products/bridgeswitch) , and Scale-EV drivers (https://www.power.com/products/scale-ev) . These cutting edge products combine the benefits of high thermal efficient packages, flux-link technology, LDMOS and/or proprietary high voltage GaN technology. The diverse set of problems encountered require an engineer who can eventually grow to autonomously drive detailed planning, bench debugging, data analysis and problem solving in a cross-functional team of Test, Process, Packaging, QA, Marketing and Applications Engineering. This broad scope of work and steep learning curve will require an apprenticeship with both Sr. Staff PE and the Sr. PCE (Product Characterization Engineer) to gain familiarity with the products and their complex development flow.

The chief responsibilities of this position include:

  • Comprehend the New Product backend plan defined by the Sr Staff PE for new product bring-up and Bench Evaluation composed of ATE to Bench correlation and bench characterization.

  • Work with the Sr. PCE to make necessary modifications to the base bench platform (H/W, S/W, bench equipment stack) required for bench evaluation. Execute to plan to i dentify and resolve product design and test, or yield issues as quickly as possible.

  • Contribute with innovative H/W and S/W improvements that can be incorporated into the base bench platform and ultimately help drive its utility company-wide.

  • Assist the Sr Staff PE with management of the product family matrix composed of varying Si controller die, power die, and package permutations. The engineer must help organize the engineering product builds with planners and support test technicians for sampling to internal and external customers.

  • Use hands-on bench experience and yield analysis tools like Spotfire, JMP, MatLab, or Python to conduct preliminary yield investigations and to optimize the ATE program used for full ATE Characterization.

    To be successful in the position, we are looking for a candidate that has tangible and demonstrable strengths in the following areas:

  • Direct experience in H/W and S/W design to talk to devices with I2C or other communication interfaces. Experience with Orcad schematic capture, board layout, Python and C+ is a plus.

  • Fast learner of the product's relevant design and application aspects with hands-on experience in bench debugging.

  • Strong and organized communicator that proactively collaborates with cross functional engineers to find unique solutions to challenging engineering problems.

  • Competent in statistics and data analysis and has a steep learning curve on new analysis techniques and tools and code proficiency to automate through scripts.

  • Basic understanding of device physics, CMOS, GaN, and packaging technology.

    Minimum qualifications include: B.S. or M.S in EE, Materials Engineering, or Engineering Physics. Minimum of 2 years experience in the electronics industry, preferably as a H/W, Computer, or Product Engineer.

    Pay Range: $95,913 - $144,599 commensurate with experience.
