We have a current opening for a Safety Manager in the Bay Area.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of occupational health and safety programs and procedures at various jobsites. The Safety Manager will report to the Safety Director and be assigned various projects.

Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Perform field visits at jobsites; assess and monitor safe practices and assist in fostering safety culture.

  • Prepare professional reports as needed.

  • Provide safety expertise to estimating department.

  • Audit projects to ensure safety program execution

  • Develop policies and procedures for new markets and new scopes of work.

  • Provide direction to Field Safety Representatives.

  • Coach field supervision and crews on safe practices.

  • Develop job specific safety plans, assist foreman/superintendent in the development of job hazard analysis.

  • Review project specs and subcontracts to identify project specific safety obligations.

  • Develop and maintain relationship with client and project safety representatives

  • Ensure documentation and execution of safety policies; program reporting, documentation of JSA, JHA, Toolbox Talks, Daily Safety Meetings, etc.,

  • Conduct any new and/or ongoing required safety related training; Confined Space, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, Forklift, NFPA 70E, jobsite specific, etc.

  • Conduct incident investigation, ensure corrective actions/lessons learned are identified and completed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of construction safety experience

  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively with all construction groups, management, owners, trades, vendors, subs

  • Ability to perform on-site safety responsibilities; recognize hazardous situation and recommend corrective measures, managing/administering safety trainings, orientations, procedures, investigating/reporting injuries, illnesses, near misses

  • Ability to travel to various jobsite locations and other states

  • Ability to partner with other remote teams successfully, effectively, and cohesively while at jobsites

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Special Considerations

  • CHST or CSP preferred

  • OSHA 30 Construction Outreach Trainer

Salary Range:

$120k/year to $140k/year

  • This is an exempt level position
