Zoom Media Data Analyst Engineer in San Jose, California

What you can expect
As a core foundation team, we are responsible or all aspects of audio-related development for Zoom, ranging from echo cancellation to audio device selection to encoding. We take pride in our role as the backbone of Zoom's audio development efforts.
About the Team
With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.
Responsibilities
Conducting comprehensive analysis of media data sets to identify trends and insights.
Providing data-driven recommendations to inform project development across all stages.
Establishing and maintaining a robust monitoring system to optimize audio and video services
What we’re looking for
Be proficient in SQL, and familiar with at least one scripting language such as R, Java, Python
Have 5 years+ of experience in data analysis with good understanding of real-time audio and video technology such as encoding.
Bachelor and above degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related technical field.
Have solid comprehension with data visualizatino tool (matplotlib, Tableau, Power BI).
Be proficient in understanding Big Data technologies and solutions (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce)
Experience in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or related field with experience in manipulating, processing, and extracting value from datasets.
Be able to demonstrate deep understanding in data analysis and data mining, familar with common algorithms such as logistic regression and correlation analysis
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$102,900.00
Maximum:
$205,800.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
