BUYER AND JR. BUYER NEEDED AT MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANY IN SANTA CLARA, CA
Description:
1 Role is a Sr Buyer responsible for forecasting, planning and purchasing of raw materials including for the part and packaging. In constant contact with the vendors to switch material and deliver on quantities needed.
The 2nd role is a Jr, more transactional, buyer to support production and engineering build schedules for indirect purchasing (tubing, packaging material, glue/adhesives for production) by analyzing inventory levels, purchasing materials and working through invoices. The ultimate goal in this position is to understand inventory counts in the warehouse and stay ahead of production in order to prevent the line going down.
Sr Analyst - Inventory Management & Procurement
• Reviews material inventory levels to ensure availability to Manufacturing.
• Sources and purchases raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material needed for production.
• Prepares purchase orders for materials/components (raw and indirect), services used, and related items as specified by Manufacturing specifications and schedules.
• Compiles and summarizes statistical data used to determine usage trends/volumes and establish kanban levels/reorder points to ensure no line down situations.
• Collaborates with Sourcing teams to identify potential suppliers and evaluates capability, service, cost and overall suitability.
• Works with Sourcing to negotiates prices (as needed) and/or select or recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery for standard purchases.
• Works with suppliers to determine effective and consistent shipment schedules to ensure material/service availability to Manufacturing.
• Works with Warehousing team to review invoices and address as needed to ensure timely receiving activities. Takes appropriate action in resolving discrepancies in order quantity, price and seeks corrective action on late deliveries.
• Other duties as required.
Analyst, Inventory Management & Procurement
• Responsible for reviewing current inventory levels to ensure adequate amounts are held on the floor and in the stockroom.
• Responsible for purchasing supplies, equipment, services, and miscellaneous items for individual departments via purchase requisition processes
• Responsible for purchasing activities in support of production build schedules. Plan purchases to MRP requirements and execute supplier PO’s.
• Monitor costs, schedule, and evaluate performance of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review invoicing issues with receiving and address as required.
• Responsible for assisting QA in correspondence and collecting required information from potential suppliers to qualify them and add them to the ASL.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
• Comply with written company policies and procedures

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Jr : 2 - 4 years supporting manufacturing environment
medical device is preferred, but not needed
AA preferred or equivalent experience.
General computer skills
Sr: 5 - 10 years no cap on the top side, the more the better
raw material purchasing
