Hilton Assistant Chief Engineer - DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Jose in San Jose, California

The DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose is looking for their next Assistant Chief Engineer to join their amazing team!This property boasts 505 guest rooms and 45,000 sq. ft. of banquet/meeting space and is located with minutes of the International Airport, and within 5 miles of downtown and all its attractions.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Property Operations and supervise a team of 5-6 team members to efficiently maintain the functionality and safety of the hotel, including the physical building, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems and life safety systems in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

  • Must have strong HVAC, electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry skills.
  • At least two (2) years of experience within hotel operations, building engineering, or maintenance.
  • Previous Supervisory/Management experience preferred.
  • The ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proven leadership skillswith excellent attention to detail
  • Local 39 experience is also highly desirable.

Classification: Full Time

Hourly Rate : $68.76

What will I be doing?

  • Assists and acts in the absence of the Director of Property Operations to oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Directs general construction and the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Assigns, verifies, and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
  • Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members.
  • Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations.
  • Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules, and evaluates staff.
