Robert Half Accounts Receivable Supervisor/Manager in San Jose, California

Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving the financial success of the organization by overseeing the accounts receivable operations and ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day collections activities. Reporting directly to the accounting department, you will be tasked with setting objectives, resolving client-billing issues, and maintaining cross-functional relationships to uphold the accuracy of financial transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting department’s goals

• Effectively execute day-to-day collections activities by identifying, resolving and mitigating account/payment delinquencies in a timely manner

• Maintain cross-functional relationships with Sales, Sales Support, Sales Operations, Customer Service, Accounting, Operations, etc. to ensure the accuracy of each business transaction

• Resolve client-billing problems while applying good customer service

• Prepare robust Aging Reports for management review

• Work with external auditors for audit requirements

• Prepare yearly/quarterly write off recommendations for old debt. Liaise with GL team to book bad debt provision

• Prepare AR Adjustments including credit memos, rebills and write off’s as required

• Oversee third party tracking of cash receipts and referring accounts to collection agencies.

• Additional revenue related responsibilities:

o Responsible for reviewing revenue transactions and preparing revenue packages for quarter-end and year-end close process, and reconciling related GL accounts.

o Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently

o Maintain deferred revenue and deferred cogs related to monthly close activities

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven work experience with Collections and/or Accounts Receivables management

• Hands-on experience with accounting software (SAP experiences are highly desired).

• Familiarity with advanced formulas in MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports.

• Ability to accurately process numerical data.

• Team management and negotiation skills.

• Problem-solving attitude along with project management skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or equivalent
