Nexstar Media Group Senior Producer, Weekend Mornings in San Francisco, California

KRON4, the Bay Area's Local News Station, is looking for a Senior Producer to join our morning team. This position helps to oversee the top-rated KRON4 Weekend Morning News which airs from 7am to 10am and KRONon's late morning streaming newscast.

This will be a regular, full-time management, non-union, non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help oversee the KRON4 Weekend Morning News and KRONon Weekend Edition

  • Make coverage decisions on breaking news and reporter assignments

  • Help plan weekend coverage, research and book guests

  • Review scripts, video and graphics

  • Produce when needed on weekends, line produce during the week

  • Edit video for stories and teases using desktop editing system

  • Write news stories for newscasts

  • Communicate with other producers, assignment editors, directors

  • Communicate clearly with control room staff and anchors

  • Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as require

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience producing compelling newscasts in a medium to major market

  • College degree or equivalent in journalism/communications or broadcasting preferred

  • Must be a self-starter, hard worker, have a great attitude, and be versatile and efficient

Compensation: $39+/hour commensurate with experience and skill level
