The AWS EC2 and Networking team was created to make sure customers can deploy the best, most scalable, and most secure architectures possible. You’ll play an important role as an advocate with our service teams to make sure we are building the right products.

The team is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for our support of EC2 Mac instances. As an EC2 Mac Solution Architect (SA), you will work with customers globally, partner closely with the engineering, business development, and technical field teams to drive the adoption of AWS EC2 Mac instances. The EC2 Mac SA will develop white papers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to understand and leverage the value of EC2 Mac instances. The EC2 Mac SA will also help drive enablement initiatives to continually develop the best technical field teams in the industry.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications

  • 5+ Years experience building iOS / macOS applications and/or familiarity with macOS build and test pipelines

  • Breadth of expertise in private and public Cloud Computing (i.e. AWS platform), technologies and architectural best practices.

  • Expert level ability to interact with senior leadership (e.g. CxO’s, IT Directors) within a customer or partner organization.

  • Leadership capabilities, having the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners, across multiple disciplines.

  • Presentation and written communication skills; high degree of comfort with technical and Executive audiences.

  • Travel to client locations as needed. Estimated 30% travel requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • Familiarity with common enterprise services

  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise

  • Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desired

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
