Amazon Sr. Business Analyst, Mechatronic/Sustainable Packaging in San Francisco, California

Description

Are you motivated to drive significant packaging waste reduction efforts across Amazon’s global organization? Amazon's Mechatronic/Sustainable Packaging team is looking for an experienced, driven and result-oriented Senior Business Analyst who can analyze complex data, troubleshoot issues, drive business decisions and communicate the findings effectively to lead a critical component of Amazon's Climate Pledge. This position partners with cross-functional business and technical teams using data to provide actionable insight to decision-makers and influence strategy and performance. Mechatronic/Sustainable Packaging sets the global, multi-year strategic packaging vision to drive waste and cost reduction and contribute directly to Amazon’s Climate Pledge goals. Our products are public facing and provide a unique opportunity to interact with end customers on every order.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the organization and development of data processing, analyses and insights for internal stakeholder and external stakeholder consumption to expand Amazon’s Frustration Free Packaging programs, advancing ready-to-ship and recyclable solutions to delight customers and improve operational efficiency and work across Automation, Finance, Data Science, Operations and Selling Partners organizations. You will provide data organization and expertise, a deep understanding of data fundamentals, and the ability to improve data and synthesize very large datasets.

You will be successful in this role if have an internal drive to challenge the status quo, excellent analytical skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, naturally curious, can quickly learn complex systems, and are involved in the details. You are able to create, organize and maintain efficient & automated processes.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the development and maintenance of new and existing solution artifacts which are focused on driving efficiency within the business via analysis, metrics, and reporting dashboards.

• Partner with operations/business teams to consult, develop and implement KPI’s, automated reporting/process solutions, and process improvements to meet business needs.

• Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.

• Prepare and deliver business requirements reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks.

• Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions.

• Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field

• 5 years of business or financial analysis, product costing, procurement, or a quantitative role experience

• 5 years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience

• Experience with QuickSight dashboard and visual creation

• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

• Experience building and maintaining automated forecasting models, utilizing regression or statistical methodologies.

• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Engineer, or another related occupation

• Experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Logistics

• Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling

• Fluency in a modeling language such as Python or R

• Experience with one or more of the statistical modeling languages/toolboxes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
