Overview

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervison of the Radiation Oncologist and the Chief Therapist the Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescriptoin and instructions of the physician. The Radiation Therapist II is also responsible for simulation of treatment fields and assisting in the calculation of dose to be delivered (when required) as prescribed and supervised by the Radiation Oncologist.

Qualifications

Experience

One year of clinical expertise with a variety of Radiation Oncology techniques on treatment and simulator units required

Prior experience working in a hospital based and/or long term care facility is preferred

Two to three years of experience with a minimum of 1 year in area of related field (Preferred)

Education

Associate of Science degree in Radiation Therapy technology from an accredited institution

Certification

Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiation Therapy or equivalent as recognized by the ARRT (CT ARRT).

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CT CPRBLS).

Certified by the California Department of Public Health as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CT CRT).

Special Skills

Exhibits clinical expertise with a variety of Radiation Oncology techniques on treatment and simulator units

Training

Complete annual safety training. Complete and maintain department specific training

Pay Range

$63.11 - $75.36 / hour
