Management Company Controller

$200-250k base (Stretch) + 25% bonus + Excellent Benefits

SF hybrid; 3x/week in office

Company Overview: Our client, a leading fund-of-fund private equity investment firm with nearly $16B in AUM, is seeking a Management Company Controller to join their team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial activities of three management company entities, including accounting, reporting, and audits.

  • Prepare annual budget, semi-annual updates, and budget-to-actual analyses.

  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and third parties for accurate reporting.

  • Review debt covenants and manage lender reporting.

  • Assist in preparing quarterly financial statements for funds.

  • Ensure internal controls adequacy.

  • Manage Senior Accountant, including hiring and training.

  • Assist in various projects and analyses as requested.

    Requirements

Keys:

  • 10+ years' experience, preferably in asset management.

  • GL experience/management company exposure required

  • Positive if you have some Fund Accounting experience

  • CPA, audit/tax experience, or fund accounting experience are advantageous.

  • Strong communication skills for presenting budgets and collaborating with senior leadership and other teams.
