Catholic Charities is the social services arm of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, security, and optimal performance. The IT Operations Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain robust systems and processes, contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Must have a willingness to handle urgent matters during off hours as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Infrastructure Management:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure.

  • Oversee server management, network operations, and data center operations.

  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems to meet business objectives.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Provide leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set professional development goals for team members.

Process Optimization:

  • Streamline and optimize IT processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

  • Implement best practices and industry standards for IT operations.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for operational procedures and protocols.

Security and Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce security policies to safeguard the organization's data and IT assets.

  • Stay abreast of the latest security threats and implement measures to mitigate risks.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with vendors to procure and manage IT hardware, software, and services.

  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend strategic partnerships.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

  • Conduct regular tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong technical background with expertise in systems administration, network management, and IT security.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Solid understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in IT operations management or a related role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Excellent leadership, vendor, and people management skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Solid understanding of budgeting, financial management, and cost control.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Coaching and developing existing employees.

  • Knowledge of effective staff Performance Management

  • Ability to set priorities and motivate team members.

  • Industry certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are desirable.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
