Summary:

As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate on a wide array of product and technical problems with a diverse set of cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Finance and others. You will use data and analysis to identify and solve our biggest challenges in developing foundational AI models. You will influence product strategy and investment decisions with data, be focused on impact, and collaborate with other teams. We have achieved a lot of progress towards state-of-the-art models in a short time. We now need to scale up how we do evaluation, improve efficiency, and build out our privacy systems and processes. If successful, this will further connect research and open source models to the product models and metrics.This DS will lead that work with partners in Research, Infra, Policy. You will be an integral part of this effort working closely with cross functional partners to enable the development of world-leading models with rigor and solid data foundations. You will work closely with Llama Research Scientists and build expertise in LLM training and unlock Meta’s key advantages in this space.You will drive actionable recommendations and key technical decisions with Meta’s researchers and leadership.The Team: You will be part of the Research Pillar of the AI Foundations pillar within the Gen AI product group. This team owns developing foundational state-of-the-art Gen AI technology.

Required Skills:

Data Scientist, Llama Scalability (Technical Leadership) Responsibilities:

  1. Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.

  2. Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses.

  3. Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends.

  4. Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.

  5. Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 10+ years of experience in Product Data Science, including in-depth experience with experimentation.

  3. Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R).

  4. Experience framing and communication skills.

  5. Proven intellectual curiosity and drive, decisiveness, with ambiguity and complexity.

  2. Masters or Ph.D. Degree in a quantitative field.

Public Compensation:

$253,000/year to $314,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
