This role will be based in the Bay Area (Sunnyvale, San Francisco, or Mountain View).

LinkedIn’s Corporate Development team partners closely with cross-functional leaders to drive corporate and strategic initiatives, analyze market activity and competitive dynamics, and source, evaluate, execute and integrate M&A and strategic partnership opportunities. The responsibilities of the Senior Associate include delivering strategic projects, landscape insights, strategic finance projects, M&A analyses, and scenario evaluations to inform LinkedIn’s most-important business decisions. The right candidate has proven skills in financial modeling and strategic assessment/diligence, along with the curiosity and critical thinking needed to identify important factors that may never fit on a spreadsheet. In addition, the Senior Associate will work with key cross-functional partners – Product, Engineering, HR, Finance to name a few - and must be comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver insightful analyses of market opportunities & drive M&A valuation of options for LinkedIn

  • Deliver strategic projects for our leadership that provide key business insights for high-priority initiatives

  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and assist in building relationships with key players in the industry (e.g. VCs, companies, founders, etc.)

  • Drive strategic finance projects (e.g. competitive KPI benchmarking, analyze LinkedIn performance relative to peers across business lifecycles, etc.) in collaboration with CFO’s office, FP&A, BizOps, etc.

  • Support acquisitions – including valuation modeling, due diligence, deal negotiations and integration for M&A. This includes coordinating a multitude of internal teams in the evaluation of technical employees, technology solutions and other product diligence

  • Assist in post-acquisition integration by ensuring that cross-functional teams are all executing on their respective M&A integration plans

  • Communicate effectively across all levels (within the team, to cross-functional partners, to leadership / executives)

  • Assist the team in building world-class best practices and infrastructure to keep us running smoothly

  • Build effective relationships with colleagues from across the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of post-undergrad work experience that includes experience in one or combination of strategy/management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, or related experience

  • BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related work experience

  • Experience delivering exec-level insights

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with large data sets and using statistical analyses (SQL experience a plus); experience with quantitative/financial models (e.g. DCFs, M&A valuation, etc.)

  • Independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations

  • Demonstrated passion for technology through work experience or non-work activities

  • Ability to formulate insights around complex business problems and aptitude for creating structured quantitative and qualitative analyses

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills & executive presence: able to articulately present and debate recommendations with senior leadership

  • Strong personal initiative, excellent judgment and sense of humor

  • Desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment: a highly proactive self-starter

  • High aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail

The pay range for this role is $107,000 to $175,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
