Consumer & Small Business Banking (CSSB)

Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 5,000 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. Customer Data and Engagement Platforms (CDEP)

The Customer Data and Engagement Platforms is a function that spans Wells Fargo’s three Consumer Lines of Business. The goal of the function is to build cutting-edge data and analytics assets and deploy them to directly improve Customer Experience and deepen customer relationships – across digital, marketing and front-line channels. Functioning as the strategic and operational nexus of the CDEP organization, the Business Architecture & Transformation team is accountable for collaborating with leaders within and beyond the CDEP function to transform the strategies, capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver top- and bottom-line results.

The Role

The CDEP Strategic Transformation & Integrated Solution Governance leader works closely with Product and Senior Technology leaders to help define the target state business architecture while also ensuring the organization’s strategic roadmap is aligned to deliver against its goals. CDEP Incorporates a diverse set of Products in support of the Consumer Bank and Enterprise to include Marketing Centers of Excellence, Sales & Engagement Platforms, Customer Journeys, Customer Experience Solutions, Data Products and Analytics. This diverse landscape requires strong leadership to align solutions and partner with our Technology CIOs to ensure an integrated approach to solution delivery. This leader will drive opportunity heat mapping across the full CDEP ecosystem, align delivery priorities across Product leadership, drive intake & governance processes in partnership with Technology, and evaluate roadmap delivery progress for Executive leadership.

Key responsibilities of this leader role include:

  • Drives top-down strategic alignment on the organization’s transformation book of work with emphasis on driving partnership with both Line of Business and Technology leadership.

  • Establishes a foundation for developing and aligning on a view of the organizational business architecture & process ecosystem across all products and domains

  • Leads assessment our business and tech capabilities relative to process and infrastructure (domain and platform)

  • Coordinates and manages an investment intake, prioritization, and grooming process to drive oversight / efficiencies

  • Partners with Enterprise Technology Architecture & Product leaders to define and drive opportunity Business Product Architecture heat mapping (Process, People, Infrastructure) for the CDEP Product ecosystem

  • Manages the end-to-end approach to Technology governance for Executive leadership including progress against target state business architecture, program status, cross-portfolio dependencies and partner delivery alignment.

  • Drives senior leader communications, problem solving and program dashboard evaluation as owned by team members

The Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership and credibility with a proven ability to influence broadly across a matrixed organization, create engagement, and drive results. This executive will be articulate and have strong interpersonal effectiveness with an impeccable reputation for integrity, accuracy, consistency, and business acumen. Key areas of experience include financial services and consumer segments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas: business process, quality assurance, strategic planning, or project management

  • 8+ years of management experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Highly skilled strategic transformation leader with a minimum of 15 years driving change & solution delivery in Financial Services and/or experience in a top Management Consulting Firm.

  • Versed in a diverse consultative toolkit including change management, technical program delivery, business architecture, executive level problem solving facilitation, and program management.

  • Experience driving Technology portfolio governance & prioritization with preferred experienced in Scaled Agile and Program Increment Planning

  • Experience leading and driving large-scale transformation portfolio governance with an emphasis on Agile planning

  • Versed in product development disciplines preferably operating in an Agile construct

  • Strong people leader with proven experience building, leading, and engaging high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in quantifying operational program effectiveness and identifying and implementing strategies to take the business to the next level.

  • Disciplined operational thinker who can manage in a complex risk environment.

  • Results with instilling a pervasive culture of accountability across teams and throughout the business.

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into executable plans.

  • Proven and demonstrated leadership skills including relationship building, partnering and collaboration skills with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with a diverse group of key business partners/stakeholders including senior management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior management and ability to articulate key messages around risk, issues, customer impacts, etc.

  • Demonstrated change leadership skills with ability to lead through change impacts.

  • Demonstrated experience bridging strategic requirements between the line of business and technology to achieve integrated solution delivery

  • Demonstrated experience assessing a complex business ecosystem, identifying critical opportunities, defining priorities with key leadership, and mobilizing partners for aligned delivery

  • Experience driving large scale product or process transformation leveraging a diverse consultative toolkit (e.g. Business Architecture disciplines, process design, operating model design, etc.)

  • Graduate degree preferred
