Amalgamated Bank Commercial Banker in San Francisco, California

Amalgamated Bank seeks a Commercial Banker to develop business relationships throughout an assigned territory or constituency with the primary focus of prospecting new middle and upper middle market relationships for the Bank, coupled with the ability to maintain current relationships by working closely with executive personnel and departmental counterparts to review the financial status of our current customer base.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Lead and executes business development plans to that assigned goals are achieved or exceeded.

  2. Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.

  3. Build effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients learning about their needs and educating them about the Bank’s products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.

  4. Pro-actively seek information from clients and prospective clients to understand possible changing situations, needs and desired benefits and evaluate product or service alternatives.

  5. Establish and maintain thorough prospect file, review and access on a scheduled basis.

  6. Keep updated on changes to banking environment, bank competition and customer's business environment.

  7. Support marketing campaigns and product launches; modify sales techniques to achieve sales results.

  8. Conduct effective networking, outreach strategies and on-site visits to determine the business’ feasibility.

  9. Review potential credit needs of prospective customers.

  10. Understand the Bank’s Treasury Management product suite and actively cross sell services to customers.

  11. Manage the risk of the assigned portfolio in a timely and precise manner.

  12. Lead the annual review process, interim reviews, specified quarterly reports and resolution of exceptions on assigned portfolio.

  13. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to prescribed policies and procedures and overall safety of the Bank’s position.

  14. Act as an intermediary between existing clients/prospective customers to other business lines within the bank when necessary.

  15. Perform other duties as directed.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  16. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  17. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in commercial banking lending/management or other finance focused industry.

  18. Leadership experience with an aligned organization, campaign or group.

  19. Successful track record in relationship management, coalition building and partnership execution.

  20. Excellent verbal/written communication; interpersonal and supervisory skills.

  21. Excellent presentation skills.

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $120,000.00 – $145,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
