Morgan Stanley is a global financial services firm that conducts business through three principal business segments - Institutional Securities Group (“ISG”), Wealth Management (MSWM”), and Investment Management (“MSIM”). MS at Work (MSAW), a department of MSWM, is focused on institutional and corporate relationships and was created to break down business silos to identify cross-sell opportunities and drive efficiencies across all functions and platforms that support institutional businesses. Our goal is to work in partnership with all of our businesses to deliver a better institutional client experience and increase product penetration and wallet share among our institutional clients and prospects. Specifically, the MSAW Private Markets team works with private companies and/or strategic partners providing cap table management platform and 409a services.

Primary Responsibilities for Account Manager

You will be responsible for overseeing, servicing and cultivating existing law firm and strategic account relationships toward mutual partnership and success. Acting as a main point of contact for law firms, private equity firms and other partners, you will interact with all departments within Morgan Stanley at Work to ensure that client expectations are met, and satisfaction levels are maintained.

Key Role Responsibilities

· Proactively build “partnership” style relationships with law firms, private equity firms, and other strategic partners, focusing on integration at all levels, maintaining relationship with all contacts at the firms

· Conduct client meetings and demonstrations and coordinate training sessions, and other client requests as required.

· Interact with various client stakeholders to solve problems, build strong partnerships, and uncover new opportunities.

· Drive relationship management strategy and handle large-scale projects

· Conduct ongoing needs analysis to determine appropriate services to meet client requirements; prepare specifications/gap analysis documents for client requests for new functionality.

· Keep client apprised of new product functionality that may be relevant to the law firm and their clients.

· Foster client loyalty through Morgan Stanley at Work’s standard client interaction protocols and proactive client retention initiatives including client meetings, corporate communications, quarterly partnership meetings, etc.

· Understand and interpret contracts, and any client exceptions to company standards, with respect to pricing, plan management or service level commitments.

· Collaborate with key stakeholders internally across the firm to ensure we are coordinated in our efforts when engaging with law firms.

· Mentor other team members with respect to client interaction, communication tactics and positioning strategies.

Qualifications

· A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics is preferred

· Understanding of private market equity, cap table management is strongly preferred

· Proven ability to work independently and manage numerous assignments concurrently

· Strong communication and relationship building skills with an ability to interface with senior leadership, both internally and externally

· Experience working with partners, channels, and integrators to build strategic offerings that drive awareness, demand, and sales

· Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and experience working with data

· Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment

· Experience in strategic partnerships, business development or strategy

· Series 7, 63 license preferred

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
