Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis Direct Support Professional - Lancaster, CA in San Fernando, California

We are looking for a compassionate, people-oriented person to support adults with disabilities in their everyday lives. If you’re a caring, positive person who isn’t afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Experience in positive behavior supports and caring for the elderly or sick will make you a strong candidate. Your daily routine can include:

What is Supported Living?

Supported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes in the community, while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and communities.

We serve the greater Antelope Valley county area in cities such as: Lancaster and Palmdale, CA

Current home office: Northridge, CA

Responsibilities

  • Able to support clients in their daily routines; including, but not limited to, nutrition, self-care, social, recreational, personal relationships, money management, etc.

  • Provide emotional support

  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Important Details

  • Part-Time

  • Overnight- pay varies based on the type of shift (sleep or awake)

  • Must have own reliable vehicle to transport clients

  • Must be willing to take public transportation

  • Must have proof of auto insurance

Requirements: This is an entry-level position.

  • Preferred: 1 year+ experience with Supported Living Services, Applied Behavior Analysis, and/or caregiving

  • Strong ethics

  • Physical stamina

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. or physically assist individual

  • (Willing to be) CPR/First-Aid certified

Pay: $18.00- $19.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift

  • 6 hour shift

  • 8 hour shift

Requirements

This entry-level position requires at least a High School Diploma and one year of training and experience in providing support services for individuals who are challenged with physical or developmental disabilities, or an A.A. degree in psychology or a related field

  • Proven experience as personal care assistant
