Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate novel Machine Learning techniques for Nuvera products

  • Propose Machine Learning solutions for Nuvera applications

  • Develop new algorithms and approaches for data-driven diagnostics & prognostics

  • Develop new algorithms and approaches for hybrid physics-based and data-driven prognostics

  • Manage Hardware and Software activities related to fuel cell test bench, data analysis and collection, digital interfaces.

  • Development embedded control systems with Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow for fuel cell products

  • Develop embedded control systems with Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow, LabView and Python for lab test benches

  • Customize and continuously improve existing control software

  • Simulate and verify the control software developed

  • Develop and verify Human Man Interface for lab applications

  • Ensure robust EMC design of CAN devices and buses, troubleshooting activities

  • Manage functional requirements for HW and SW

  • Assure compliance of HW and SW control systems to relevant code and standards

  • Manage relationship with suppliers to guarantee compliance with requirements

Key/Technical Skills:

  • Understanding and familiarity with various Machine Learning algorithms

  • Understanding and familiarity with artificial neural networks methods

  • Experience with embedded control architectures and coding of complex systems

  • Problem solving attitude, fond of new technologies

  • A self-started passionate about building things from the ground up

  • Attitude to work in multi-cultural teams

  • Very good communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • An excellent Master Science Degree (Ph.D. is a plus) in Engineering (Automation and Control, Electronics, Mechatronics) or equivalent

  • Knowledge of fuel cell diagnostics & prognostics techniques

  • Preferred 5-10 years of experience

  • Proficient knowledge of Python (Scikit-learn, Keras, Tensorflow or Pytorch)

  • Experience in control system development in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, LabView and Python environment

  • Knowledge of embedded programming systems (C++ or equivalent).

  • Experience in software commissioning and testing activities on electronic components

  • Knowledge of communication protocols ( CAN J1939 and Ethernet preferred)

  • Experience with control systems for automotive applications, hybrid vehicles or electrical vehicles is considered a plus

  • Knowledge of standards related to control HW and SW applications such as ISO13489 and ISO26262, PL, SIL and ASIL, Ingress Protection, EMC, etc.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing services preferred

  • Fluent in English
