Actalent Transmission Line Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Title: Transmission Line Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited university to join a great team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience (ideally 5-8) in the design of overhead high voltage and extra high voltage transmission lines, including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packages. Experience with underground transmission design up to 230 kV and knowledge of PG&E standards is a plus.

In this role, you will assist in the preparation of specifications, calculations, drawings, and scope documents for construction tenders and contracts. You will coordinate and direct design engineers and technical staff to ensure the successful and timely execution of projects. Additionally, you will write and edit technical reports and engineering studies, liaise with clients and contractors, and coordinate with various disciplines and permitting agencies while exercising project management skills. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects and advance your career within the Power Delivery sector. You will also contribute to bridging gaps across various sectors of infrastructure engineering, both domestically and internationally.
