Deloitte Sr Software Systems Engineer in San Diego, California

Work you'll do/Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support necessary to monitor, review and critique the Software specifications, designs, and implementations being developed for MIDS JTRS block upgrades, block cycles and/or engineering releases.

  • Evaluate interfaces and operational and performance requirements of overall systems.

  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.

  • Apply software engineering principles and expertise to review software specifications and interface documents that establish the Functional Baseline (FBL), Allocated Baseline (ABL) and Product Baseline (PBL). This includes review of ECPs/NORs, SDD/IDD and API documents.

  • Provide software engineering expertise to review Software Test Plans (STPs) and Software Test Descriptions (STDs), ensuring that requirements are correctly and sufficiently tested

  • Evaluate software qualification test results from both real-time laboratory environment and remote evaluation of recorded test data.

  • Review and evaluate all documentation and products related to software releases, including Software Product Specification (SPS), Software Verification Description (SVD) and SW executables.

    The Team

The US Systems Engineering Offering delivers large scale software applications and integrated systems and assists its clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. The practice aims at developing service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems. It would focus on key client issues that impact the core business by delivering operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation.

Qualifications

Required

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered.

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or another related engineering or computer science discipline.

  • At least five (5) years of systems engineering experience supporting a government program office.

  • Strong knowledge of DoN software systems and applications.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

    Preferred

  • Master of Science degree from an accredited university in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or another related engineering or computer science discipline.

  • At least ten (10) years of systems engineering experience supporting a government program office.

  • Advanced knowledge of DoN software systems and applications.

This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,325 to $188,875.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
