BAE Systems Sr Field Service Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Description

The selected candidate will provide a high level of coordination for Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) System Operability Verification Test (SOVT) on-time completion for Pacific Fleet ships.

  • Conduct C4I ship checks prior to, during and post ship modernization availabilities

  • Track all C4I modernizations and upgrades for each ship

  • Track all required SOVT s status

  • Track all legacy systems required to support scheduled SOVT s

  • Coordinate with ship s force and NIWC Test directors and develop plan to bring legacy systems out of lay-up to support SOVT testing

  • Coordinate with ship s force, NIWC, Local RMC to conduct appropriate Pre-Installation Check-out (PICO) prior to availability.

  • Schedule Pre-SOT team prior to and during SOVT testing to ensure legacy systems are available to support.

  • Attend required meetings

  • Submit required reports

  • Other duties as required

This position is located in San Diego, CA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to San Diego or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma and at least 8 years of related experience

US Navy IT/ET with shipboard/submarine experience

US Navy A School

Ability to set-up and operate complex US Navy communications systems

Ability to effectively train and interact with shipboard personnel

Ability to lead a watch team as a Satellite Communications Supervisor

Ability to travel (up to 10%)

Ability to work in an industrial environment, wear all required PPE, and work at heights

Advanced experience with MS Office tools

Ability to conduct briefings and read and interpret ship's drawings

Understanding of ship C4I systems and their installation and testing

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Valid US passport

Experience as a technical instructor

Shipboard Communications equipment maintenance experience

CG, DDG or LCS ship class experience

Time served at a Navy Computer and Telecommunication Station

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
