Overview

This position is responsible for supporting CROSSMARK through accounting, analysis, and reporting of each period’s close activities. This includes providing technical accounting advice, processing journal entries, reconciling assigned accounts, providing monthly financial statement analysis, and complying with all year-end audit requests.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure accurate and timely financial results in compliance with CROSSMARK policy and GAAP.

  2. Ensure accurate consolidation of results for those entities maintained in ERPs outside of CROSSMARK’s general ledger as appropriate.

  3. Prepare and process general ledger entries as required.

  4. Accurately and timely complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations.

  5. Assist with the review of reconciliations prepared outside the accounting group ensuring reconciling items are appropriately identified and resolved.

  6. Complete financial statement variance analysis and present the results in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner for the monthly close meetings.

  7. Prepare various schedules and complete research to assist with the annual financial statement audit.

  8. Answer accounting questions and provide technical accounting guidance by researching and interpreting data.

  9. Identify and implement best practices and process improvements.

  10. Complete special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong GAAP knowledge.

  2. Prior general ledger accounting experience with focus on month-end close.

  3. Ability to perform independent accounting research and apply policies/standards.

  4. Strong Excel skills.

  5. Solid analytical and communication skills.

  6. Excellent time management, decision making, and organizational skills.

  7. Ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver a high-quality product on a regular and consistent basis.

  8. Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively with limited supervision.

  9. Must be a highly motivated, self-starter, with a strong work ethic.

  10. Ability to work well with others and be a team player.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Master’s degree a plus.

  2. Current CPA license with strong GAAP technical accounting knowledge preferred

  3. 5+ years accounting experience.

  4. Experience with general ledger accounting systems and applications. Lawson, Essbase, and Hyperion experience a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Work environment: Office environment.

Salary Range - $70,000 - $85,000
