Description

Sr. Principal Software Test and Evaluation Engineer

Joint Fires Network (JFN) and the Assault Breaker II (AB2) initiatives are designed to realize advanced warfighter architectures, CONOPS and link sensors and weapons platforms in times of critical conflict around the globe.

The position requires an individual with expertise and extensive experience in technical programs, technical program management, agile software development, and specific experience with Software and Systems Test and Evaluation within a DevSecOps environment.

Contractor support shall improve processing, cybersecurity, hardware and software, exploitation, and BMC2 capabilities across all warfare domains.

The position is based in San Diego, CA at NIWC Pacific.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Provide holistic Test and Evaluation support for software applications across development. integration and test environments and fielded systems for multiple system baselines at multiple classification levels (SECRET, TS/SCI and SAP).

· Test and evaluate software applications in a lab and on deployed systems and provide feedback and reporting to enable development teams to remedy issues.

· Create, edit and perform software test procedures, scripts, plans and use cases to enable Test and Evaluation of integrated capabilities and systems

· Assess and enforce policies and procedures to enable DEVSECOPS capabilities in alignment with PoR requirements.

· Ability to work in a large technical team with many suppliers and vendors to enable a process for regular software deliveries into a CI/CD pipeline supporting a container-based environment.

· Review deliveries from external partners to include but not limited to: software applications and artifacts (containers, VMs, binaries), test data, test cases and documentation.

· Comprehensive experience using SW Development and SW Configuration Management tools such as Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, Git or similar and comparable technologies.

· Awareness and support of system dashboards to increase system maintainability and status awareness.

Qualifications

· Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, IT Systems, Cybersecurity or other relevant Engineering study

· Ten (10) or more years experience providing Test and Evaluation for Software and Integrated Systems/Capabilities

· Strong experience with DoD Enterprise and Experimental C5I systems and Networks

· Strong attention to detail with exceptional time management and communication skills

· Excellent writing skills required for preparation of process documentation, deliverables, and other work products.

· Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

· Position Requires onsite support in a classified environment.

· Employee will be required to travel in support of distant end installations or break fix actions if they cannot be accomplished remotely. Such travel may be with limited (less than 3 days) notice.

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
