BAE Systems Senior Storage / Datacenter Admin in San Diego, California

Job Description

Seeking an experienced IT storage systems administrator to support our San Diego, CA classified lab environments with expertise in setting up and managing multiple storage devices and technologies.

A successful candidate will have experience with NetApp, Dell Unity, HPE Nimble,SwiftStack,ScaleIO, and Commvault technologies supporting internal customers, designing, implementing and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements. In this role, you will manage and maintain customer hardware and data, troubleshoot a multitude of permissions, test new technology for live environments. Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge with virtualization environments to include VMware and Azure and experience integrating storage. You will work with Industrial Security to develop and apply hardening configurations for systems for classified use to RMF requirements. Document configuration for new and existing systems.

The candidate will also assist in administer the datacenter infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network operations.

Knowledge of Network equipment (switches and routers), Linux, and Windows operating systems is a plus.

You should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities, and learn new technologies quickly are some of the qualities a successful candidate will have. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts. This is not inclusive of all job duties.

CompTIA Security (or equivalent) is required towork in the environment.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Top Secret clearance with SCI

  • Security CE

  • 8 years of experience in enterprise level Windows Server/Workstation operating environments

  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies

  • TCP/IP and Microsoft Networking concepts

  • Virtual machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter, VSphere, VMware)

  • Working knowledge of NetApp, Dell Unity, HPE Nimble, Commvault Management

Experience with automated backup systems

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience in automating administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages.

  • Knowledge of SQL commands.

  • Experience with Azure Cloud Services.

  • Microsoft 365 Certified or Microsoft Certified Azure preferred.

  • TCP/IP and Microsoft Networking concepts

  • Working knowledge of Virtual Machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter, VSphere, VMware)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
