We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Manager who excels in both technical expertise and people management. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and Azure cloud technologies. This individual will play a key role in leading and managing a team of talented engineers while also contributing hands-on to technical projects.

  1. Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Java-based applications, particularly using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the team adopts best practices and remains at the forefront of technical innovation.

• Contribute hands-on to coding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving to support the team's technical needs.

• Work closely with architects and senior developers to define technical architecture and ensure adherence to coding standards.

  1. Team Management

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support for their professional development.

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.

• Conduct regular performance reviews, set performance goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  1. Project Management

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to drive successful project outcomes.

• Manage resources effectively, balancing project priorities and team workloads.

  1. Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including product owners and business leaders, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Facilitate communication within the team and across departments, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals.

  1. Cloud Technologies

• Demonstrate expertise in Azure cloud services, providing insights and recommendations for optimal cloud-based solutions.

• Oversee the deployment, management, and optimization of applications in Azure cloud environments.

To be successful in this role you have:

Qualifications

• 15+ Year of relevant experience

• Proven experience in Java development, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and Azure cloud technologies.

• Extensive experience in people management, with a track record of leading high-performance engineering teams.

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, best practices, and coding standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Project management skills and experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications in Java, Spring, or Azure.

• Experience in DevOps practices and tools.

• Previous experience in a leadership role within a technology-driven organization.

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $163,000 - $285,200, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location. For individuals who will be working in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located in that geographical area; please contact your recruiter for additional information.
